A Personal Note

As I watched a loved one lose themselves in an abusive relationship and felt the aftershock through a changing family dynamic, I lost a part of myself, too. I experienced every conflicting emotion deeply and distinctly—anger, fear, defeat, guilt, and most prominently, helplessness. At the moment, it seemed like all I could do was sit back and watch it unfold. This sparked a passion to raise awareness about the signs of domestic violence and provide a resourceful platform accessible to those struggling firsthand in their relationship or as an observer.

To the observers,
They need to leave on their own time. This realization can be almost impossible to accept as someone on the sidelines. Whether they are hanging on to hope or preparing and solidifying plans for when they do leave, no one can persuade them until they are ready.
I hope that when they decide to leave, the survivors are empowered with knowledge and resources for informed decision-making.

To those facing violence directly,
Know that you are brave, capable, and worthy of peace and safety.
